    KAPLAN HIGHER EDUCATION’S FORT WORTH CAMPUS NAMED 2005 SCHOOL OF THE YEAR BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

     

    Fort Worth, TX, February 9, 2006 – Kaplan Higher Education today announced that Careers Centers of TexasFort Worth campus was named “2005 School of the Year” by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP). The school competed with more than 800 other schools nationally for the award.

     

    The award is given annually to the career school whose students have consistently exceeded the national average on test scores for the National Registered Certified Medical Assistant Exam.  The award was presented on January 27, 2006, and included a silver trophy, a banner and $500.00 for student activities.

     

    Jan Schilling, Director of School Recruitment for NAHP, presented the award and noted, “This is the youngest school ever to receive this award, and it was really special for me to be able to present it.”

     

    “It is truly an honor to work with such a great staff who consistently gives 110 percent to our students,” said Lisa Whitacre, Lead Instructor, Career Centers of Texas-Fort Worth. 

     

    Career Centers of Texas Medical Assistant instructors include: Tysha Clark, Alicia Metoyer, Alton Kopal, Lisa Whitacre, Deanna Williams, Sheila White, Kathy Henderson, Becca Porcaro, and Mike Perry.

     

    Nancy Tedros, Executive Director of Career Centers of TexasFort Worth campus, noted, “This award affirms our school’s commitment to excellence. I’m proud of the faculty but also the hard-working medical assistant students we have at our campus.”


    Career Centers of Texas–Fort Worth campus opened in May 2004, and offers allied health diplomas, including: Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, Pharmacy Technician, and Computer Business Systems.
