HAGERSTOWN, MD., April 14, 2007 – Hagerstown Business College will hold a graduation ceremony for 141 students on Saturday, April 14th. The ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the North Hagerstown High School at 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Md.
Students will be recognized for earning associate’s degrees and certificates in 19 programs in the business, allied health, legal studies, graphic design and information technology fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study, many of which are in high demand throughout the state. According to the Maryland Occupational Projections, a Maryland Career & Workforce Information report by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, medical assistant positions are expected to increase 41.6 percent, legal assistant positions by 37.3 percent, health information technician positions by 25.8 percent and medical transcriptionist positions by 21 percent from 2004 to 2014.
“We see graduation as a celebration of our students’ success,” said W. Christopher Motz, president of Hagerstown Business College. “It’s an exciting moment to share with friends and family; especially since many of our graduates are the first in their families to receive a college diploma.”
Hagerstown Business College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The campus currently offers twelve associate’s degree and three certificate programs including graphic design, criminal justice, medical assistant, paralegal studies, computer forensics and medical insurance coding and billing,.
