Kaplan University’s Mason City Campus to Host Graduation Ceremony for 86 Students Friday
MASON CITY, Iowa, July 11, 2008—Kaplan University’s Mason City campus will hold a graduation ceremony on Friday, July 11, for 86 students. The ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 2101 Fourth St. SW, Mason City.
Students will be recognized for earning bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, diplomas or certificates in one of 17 programs in the allied health, nursing, business, information technology, legal studies, criminal justice or interdisciplinary fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study, many of which are in high demand throughout the state. According to the State of Iowa Long-term Occupational Projections, Iowa Workforce Development, Policy and Information Division, medical assistant positions are expected to increase by 30.6 percent, licensed practical nursing positions by 15.5 percent and paralegal positions by 29 percent from 2004 to 2014.
“Our graduates have worked hard to overcome obstacles and achieve their degrees,” said Joe Albers, executive director of Kaplan University’s Mason City campus. “Our hats are off to their families and significant others who have supported them throughout their education. We look forward to seeing them apply their confidence and new career skills to employment opportunities throughout the community.”
