Kaplan College’s Hammond and Merrillville Campuses to Host Joint Graduation Ceremony for 180 Students Thursday
State Rep. Vernon G. Smith to Keynote Ceremony
Merrillville, Ind., July 24, 2008—Kaplan College’s Hammond and Merrillville campuses will hold a joint graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 24, for 180 students. The ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Avalon Manor at 3550 E. Lincoln, Merrillville. State Rep. Vernon G. Smith will keynote the ceremony.
Students will be recognized for earning an associate degree or certificate in one of eight programs in the allied health, business or information technology fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study, many of which are in high demand throughout the state. According to the Indiana Statewide Occupational Projections, Indiana Workforce Development, Research and Analysis, massage therapist positions are expected to increase by 28 percent and medical assistant positions by 45 percent from 2004 to 2014.
The Kaplan College Merrillville and Hammond campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
